Hi, I’m Banks, and I’d love to tell you a little about myself!

For a long time, I sat quietly in a shelter watching other dogs get noticed while I waited. The volunteers loved me and always told me what a sweet boy I was, but I was so shy that people would walk right past me. I just didn’t know how to show them who I really was.

Then one day, everything changed.

A rescue lady happened to be visiting another dog, saw me sitting there, and decided I deserved a chance too. That moment changed my life, and now I’m learning what it means to be loved in an amazing foster home.

Every single day I become a little more confident. I’m still a calm, gentle, easygoing guy, and I think that’s just who I’ll always be. I love following my foster mom everywhere she goes because being close to my people makes me feel safe. At bedtime, I get to sleep in the big bed, and I happily snooze there all night long.

I’m also discovering something called “playing.” I get so excited when the other dogs invite me! They do these funny play bows, and I wag my tail and paw back because I really want to join in…I’m just still figuring out exactly how. I never really learned before, but I’m trying, and that’s a pretty big deal for me.

I get along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats! In fact, my cat friend and I are pretty adorable together. I lick the cat, the cat licks me, and we love relaxing side by side. My gentle heart makes me a great fit for a home with other pets, kind children, or even someone looking for a calm companion to share quiet days together.

If you’re looking for a wild, bouncing-off-the-walls dog, that probably isn’t me. But if you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will quietly follow you from room to room, melt into your side, and love you with his whole heart, I think we might be perfect for each other.

All I ever needed was someone to see past my shyness. Maybe that someone is you.
