Personality: Dobby is a very shy gentleman but don't underestimate him and his love for his pack. He gains confidence from his 5 foster brothers that range from a puppy that is 4 months old to a 14 year old 90 lb rescued Rhodesian Ridgeback. He loves to play and run with his foster brothers. He is still trying to convince his grumpy foster brother, Duke, to play but he only tries for a minute or so before he shys away from Duke's low growl. He then heads off to play with the other fun dogs! He will definitely be prone to being the passive dog in any pack. He is a gorgeous boy with a very unique coloring, he is tan but there is also a sheen of silver and his eyes are large (hence the name Dobby). He has beautiful eyes. While we don't know what happened prior to Dobby being trapped by volunteers, it is certain he was abused and never felt the hand of love. He has gone from severe shaking when his foster family holds him to allowing them to hold him with intermittent shivering. He is beginning to realize he is safe and starting to love affection. His foster family still can't walk fast toward him or in a room in general as it creates great distress for him. Dobby will be an amazing dog for a family with a very quiet household and will do best if there is at least 1 other dog. The dogs in his "pack" give him confidence. One of the things his foster family loves about Dobby is the slight white streak between his eyes on his forehead and he loves it when his foster mom tenderly rubs him on his forehead. He closes his eyes and stands still absorbing the love.
History: Dobby's story was almost tragic. We don't know where he came from but he was abandoned with two other dogs in North Little Rock. Our rescue saw posts on Pawboost about the 3 that were in desperate need of help. Dobby was emaciated. Some wonderful volunteers trapped them for our rescue and the first week was touch and go and we were not sure Dobby was going to make it. He has gained 5 lbs and is a healthy boy looking for his forever family.
