Hi, I’m Buddy!
Hi there! Buddy here! I’m a handsome black-and-white boy with some pretty spectacular markings—kind of like a Holstein cow! And while I may not be able to see very much, I’ve got an amazing little brain that helps me figure out this world just fine.
Here are a few things you should know about me:
- I LOVE having other animals around! I actually spend a lot of my time giving the other dogs and cats in my foster home little baths. Yep… I like to groom my canine and feline friends! Because of that, I’d really love a forever home with at least one other pet to keep me company.
- I’m an amazing little navigator. Within just 48 hours of arriving at my foster home, I knew exactly where every water bowl was. I also figured out where breakfast and dinner happen and head straight there when it’s mealtime. I may not see much, but I know my way around!
- I’m AMAZING on a leash! I absolutely LOVE going for walks, and I walk beautifully. If you’re looking for a walking buddy, I could be your guy!
- I’m very easygoing with other dogs. Even when another dog gets a little bossy with me, I don’t make a big fuss. One of the girls in my foster home likes to bark at me and tell me what to do, and I basically just sit there and ignore her.
(Which I’m pretty sure makes her even more frustrated!)
- Cats? Yep! I like them, too.
- I LOVE being loved. I’m happiest when I’m near my people and will happily follow my foster mom around the house.
- And then there’s my favorite activity in the whole wide world… VACUUMING! My foster mom has two very hairy dogs, so thankfully, there is plenty of vacuuming around here—usually twice a day! I love following her around while she vacuums, and I especially love nibbling on her free hand while she does it. It’s my own personal tracking system: if I can find her hand, I know exactly where she is! So morning and afternoon vacuum time are definitely highlights of my day.
- NylaBones are my jam. I love to find my favorite NylaBone, settle down with it and chew away before bedtime. It’s one of those things I know I can always find.
- I’m a good sleeper. I may snore just a tiny bit…okay, maybe more than a tiny bit. But my foster mom says it’s so darn cute that she doesn’t mind at all!
- I LOVE food and treats. Pretty much anything edible gets my vote, but peanut butter? OH YES. My foster mom puts a little peanut butter inside my bowl with every meal, and I think she should probably keep doing that forever.
- I know what fetch is! My foster mom says it’s pretty obvious that I used to play fetch because when the other dogs start playing, I get excited and try to join in. The only problem is that after the ball is thrown, I can’t see where it went. So I may know exactly what I’m supposed to do… I just can’t find the darn ball! Instead, my foster family focuses on things I can really enjoy—like walks, cuddles, snacks and being with my people.
I may not be able to see the world the way other dogs do, but I experience it in my own special way. I use my nose, my ears, my memory and my heart—and I have figured out how to navigate life pretty darn well.
What I’m really looking for is simple: a family who will love me, a furry friend to keep me company, plenty of walks, some snacks, a few good chew toys, and a whole lot of love.
I’m sweet. I’m funny. I’m affectionate. I’m surprisingly clever. And I am SO ready to find the people who will love me forever.
I promise, you may think you’re adopting a mostly-blind dog…
…but what you’ll really be getting is Buddy. And Buddy is pretty darn special.
