The Buford Project is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dedicated to creatively connecting dogs with foster homes and rescues in Central Arkansas. We work tirelessly to find loving, temporary homes for dogs in need and support local animal rescue efforts.
Our story started with our founder's son, Lance, and his friend, Owen, finding an abandoned puppy in December of 2023 while on a 40 mile backpacking trip. With no vets or shelters nearby, "Buford" was strapped to Lance's backpack and joined them on their adventure. Lynn, our founder, connected with Heather who fostered Buford for 2 months before being adopted by a family in Pennsylvania where he lives with a wonderful family! Lance, Heather, and Lynn are now impacting Central Arkansas by sharing the need for fosters far and wide while at the same time finding forever homes for dogs in Central Arkansas.
Together, we can create paw-sitive change! Support our cause and help us make a lasting impact on the community.
We are a 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax deductible.
